Made in Nairobi, for churches in Kenya
MyChurch is built and run by Bitwise Digital Solutions Ltd, the same team that runs Mobile Sasa, the bulk SMS and USSD platform. It started life as Scarlet and has been MyChurch since.
Why it exists
Most church offices we met ran on a member spreadsheet, a giving book, an M-Pesa statement printed every Monday and a dozen WhatsApp groups. The treasurer matched payments to names by hand, and members rarely knew what they had given in a year.
MyChurch puts those in one place. Giving arrives on the church's own paybill and is matched to the member and the right account the moment it is confirmed. The register, attendance, groups and messages sit next to it, so the office spends Monday on people instead of paperwork.
We think of it as serving the people who serve. Every hour a treasurer or a church secretary saves is an hour given back to ministry.
“Let all things be done decently and in order.”
What we promise
- The money is the church's. Members give to the church's own paybill, till or bank account; we never hold it.
- A payment counts only when Safaricom confirms it. No total in MyChurch rests on an unconfirmed message.
- Member data belongs to the church. We process it to run the service, and members can ask for it to be deleted.
- The people who build MyChurch answer the phone, so you talk to someone who can fix things.
- Messages go out through Mobile Sasa, our own SMS platform, with a delivery report for every one.
